#GrowTheArts with these regional arts and culture events!
First Friday began as an evolution of TAF’s Gallery Walk. The goal of this program is to create a deeper and more consistent connection between Downtown business and local art – and in turn, improve quality of life for community members. Join us downtown on Friday, November 5 from 6-9pm and shop, sip, and sample your way through businesses and restaurants as they welcome regional musicians, performers, and artists.
Peggy Favorite began weaving on a rigid heddle loom nine years ago, as a natural extension of her lifelong passion for knitting, sewing, and garment design. Often using yarn made for knitting, her work combines color and texture of the finest wools, silk, cotton, and even sugar cane. She loves the meditative process of weaving as well as the uniquely beautiful finished piece. Peggy will be demonstrating weaving on her rigid heddle loom on First Friday, November 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Artists’ Own, 518 Main Street, Lafayette.

Excitement is palpable for the Little Sisters of Hoboken who are set to broadcast their first TV special from their VERY OWN Cable Access Studio— which just happens to be located in the convent basement. The cast of this ‘Hybrid’ Holiday musical includes four feisty nuns, Father Virgil the parish priest, along with some of Mount Saint Helen’s most talented students.
Come be a part of the studio audience and embrace the hilarious dysfunction of the Little Sister family. It’s the perfect way to ensure that your holiday season is merry and bright!
