TAF supports the Arts in 14 Hoosier counties
Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF) has proudly served as Region
4 Arts Partner of the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC), a state
agency, since 1997. It is one of 12 partner organizations
throughout the State.
Serving a population of just over 514,000.citizens, Region
4 County Representatives cover the largest geographic area among the Partners, and
includes 14 counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain,
Howard, Jasper, Newton, Montgomery, Pulaski, Tippecanoe, Tipton,
Warren, and White.
The goals of the Regional Arts Partnership are to increase
public awareness and access to the arts, as well as to provide
advocacy and support of the arts – all at the local
level and regional level. Each Regional Partner provides four
core services:
- Grants – awarding operations grants to arts
organizations and project support to arts and other nonprofit
groups including schools
- Information & Referral – offering contacts
for artists and arts groups, instructors, leads on other funding
sources, and a host of other information
- Technical Assistance – offering how-to workshops,
leadership development, capacity building, tips for connecting
with businesses and more
- Cultural Needs Assessment and Planning – assessing
your communities arts resources and needs and working with
citizens to develop a plan to achieve even more Regional
Cultural Plan (PDF)
In the first six years of the Partnership, TAF has regranted
over $750,000 to organizations throughout Region 4. Funding
comes from the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, via
the Indiana General Assembly, and the National Endowment for
the Arts, a federal agency, via the United States Congress.
Additional funding for Mini-grants is provided with designated
gifts of Tippecanoe Arts Federation, its donors, and Eli Lilly
& Company.
The Region 4 Advisory Council (RAC) consists of members
from among the region’s 14 counties, Purdue University
and TAF. The RAC Chair is a member of the Tippecanoe Arts
Federation Board of Directors.
