IAC Grant Programs Overview

Individual Artist Program

The Individual Artist Program(click to view IAC details) supports individual artists, in all disciplines, for specific project-related costs incurred between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. Eligible projects are purposely left flexible to respond to artists' ideas, dreams and needs; however, the goal is to aid the artists' career development. Applicants must plan a project, or phase of a project, which can be realized within the requested budget and completed within the proposed timeline. Funds may not be used for costs related to academic research or study towards a degree. Applications are due in February 2009. Applications available at the IAC website beginning October 2009.

Capacity Building Program

The Capacity Building Program provides support, over a 24-month period, for organizational assessment, long range planning, and plan implementation utilizing a standardized assessment tool. The Program is designed to allow arts providers to comprehensively examine their "reason for being," mission, markets, programs, services, and governance and management structures and general operations with the aim of increased organizational effectiveness. The program is not designed to address single issue needs such as developing marketing or fund raising plans, program planning or evaluation, or feasibility studies.

Multi-regional Major Arts Institutions Grant Program

The Multi-regional Major Arts Institutions grant program provides annual operating support for the ongoing artistic and administrative functions of eligible arts organizations that provide quality arts programs and services on a statewide or multi-regional basis with an emphasis on arts education. Operating expenses may include, but are not limited to, salaries, administrative fees, staff development and training, space and equipment rental, promotional costs, and production costs, etc., needed to support the organization's yearly activities. Notice of intent to apply is due past due.

The Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Multi-regional Major Arts Institutions grantees are: Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Opera, Eiteljorg Museum, Indianapolis Art Center, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Indianapolis Museum of Art, Young Audiences of Indiana, Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra, Clowes Memorial Hall, and Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra.

Statewide Arts Service Organizations Grant Program

The Statewide Arts Service Organizations Grant Program provides financial support to statewide arts service organizations, which offer high quality training and technical assistance services on a statewide or multi-regional basis, with special attention to arts providers in underserved communities. Funding is limited to project support for a distinct aspect of the organization's arts-related technical assistance activities, such as a conference, educational seminar, or a series of workshops or training sessions.
